A peaceful weekend filled with nature, hikes, and local charm
Day 1: Road Trip & Cozy Airbnb Check-In
We left early in the morning from the Bay Area and began our scenic drive to Mount Shasta. The route was beautiful — full of forests, mountains, and endless skies.
By afternoon, we arrived and checked into a cozy Airbnb tucked into a quiet corner of town. It had everything we needed: peaceful surroundings, comfy beds, and mountain air.
If you’re planning a trip to Mount Shasta, I highly recommend staying in an Airbnb — it’s the best way to feel like a local.

After settling in, we took a short walk at Sisson Meadow — a calm, easy trail with an amazing view of Mount Shasta. The perfect way to start the weekend.
Day 2: Burney Falls, McCloud Falls & Lake Siskiyou
We started the day with a morning drive to Burney Falls, one of the most breathtaking waterfalls in Northern California.
It looked like something out of a fantasy movie — misty, powerful, and surrounded by greenery.

Next, we headed to McCloud Falls, but only visited Middle Falls this time. It’s the most iconic section, with wide cascading water and smooth rocks to sit and relax on.

In the late afternoon, we made our way to Lake Siskiyou, where the mountain reflects beautifully in the lake.
We stayed there until sunset, just enjoying the peaceful view and the golden light over the water.

Day 3: Mossbrae Falls Adventure
On our last day, we hiked to Mossbrae Falls — one of the most magical spots in the area.
It’s a bit of a hidden gem, with cascading water flowing down a lush green wall. Totally worth the adventure to get there.

We spent the rest of the morning walking around town, grabbing coffee, and slowly making our way back.
Shasta has a way of resetting your energy — we already can’t wait to come back.
Final Thoughts

Between the waterfalls, mountain views, and quiet walks, it’s the kind of place that reminds you to breathe a little slower and enjoy the moment.
Whether you’re hiking, reading on the porch, or watching the sunset over the lake — there’s something truly grounding about this place.
